I ran state-level track when I was younger, but when I moved into longer distances, the usual suspects showed up: shin splints, foot pain, ITB issues. I was lifting, sure, but not the right way for running. Once I got specific with my strength training, things changed fast. The niggles disappeared. I dropped 40 minutes off my half marathon time. Running actually felt good again.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the investment?

Runner’s Strength Lab™ is $85 CAD per month. You’ll be charged automatically each month starting from the Monday after you sign up.
Changed your mind? You can cancel before that Monday with no charge. Cancel after that, and your first month is non-refundable.

What equipment do I need?

Gym version: Barbell, dumbbells or kettlebells, and bands for warm-up exercises
Home version: Most exercises can be done with bodyweight, but bands and at least two sets of dumbbells or kettlebells is ideal. (one lighter set for upper body & one heavier set for lower body)
You’ll also need a smartphone to access the app.

Is this for beginners?

You don’t need to be an expert by any means, but it’s assumed that you have some experience in the gym. If you’re brand new to strength training, check out Running Strength 101

What if I miss a workout?


Life happens. I don’t expect perfection. The app lets you move sessions around your calendar or go back and complete missed workouts. If you aim for 80% consistency, you’ll see results. If you’re traveling, you can switch to the home workouts to keep on track.

What if I can’t do a specific exercise?


You can easily swap movements in the app, try to sub with something similar (e.g. dumbbell chest press instead of barbell bench press). If you’re unsure, just message me inside the app and I’ll help.

How much support do I get?

This is a self-guided program designed to keep it accessible and affordable. That said, you’ll have messaging access to me inside the app, I respond within 24-48 hours on weekdays. If you’re wanting more support, or something more individualized, 1:1 coaching might be for you, you can apply HERE.

What if I have questions during the program?


Most of what you need is inside your downloadable guide and app. But if you’re ever stuck, I’m just a message away.

Can I do this while training for a race?


Absolutely. Runner’s Strength Lab™ is designed to complement your run training, not compete with it. You’ll recover better and feel stronger through your training blocks.
